HOUR OF CODE

Thanks to the invaluable support of Zach Duensing from Studio NPL we held Hour of Code in our STEM/STEAM classrooms today.

Everyone had fun.

Everyone was curious.

Everyone tried.

Exposure to a different thought process is so relevant at this stage.

A large part of the future belongs to computer processes.

Future professionals - with a college degree or technical training MUST know how to code. Career advancement will depend on this powerful skill.

In our classrooms, students need an hour of coding 2-3 times per week, making it applicable to the learning process and utilizing problem solving skills at all times.

What is the Hour of Code?

The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.

This grassroots campaign is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide.
