MUD TO MUSIC WORKSHOP

It is always a pleasure to work with Lori Kissinger, Founder and President of Borderless Arts TN.

She comments:

"Borderless Arts TN had an outstanding Teapot Diplomat workshop with Mr. Carlos Calderon at the Sumner Teen Center called from Mud to Music in which the participant made musical instruments out of clay.

This program is supported by Mark and Niki Antonini.

What impresses me about these workshops is watching the growth of those participants who have been with us for a while. Today, I was amazed at how Jennifer used techniques she had learned in a workshop in January and applied them to her project today. Morgan stood out as a helper to Carlos by assisting in handing things out and cleaning up. It is these marks of achievement that are why we do what we do."

There is purpose and inspiration in what we all do. We are building community. I always learn something from these incredible women.

Art facilitates the interaction. Art supports specific needs we have. Art inspires.

NOTE: Major kudos to the Sumner Teen Center - what a powerful organization -- A space for teens to be safe, to create, to be themselves and to have fun. They donate their space to Borderless Arts TN to use for their various events. That is impressive!

Also, thank you to the parents who joined the workshop and supported the creative process.

I'll see everyone soon. We still have to paint our mud creations and create music together!
